President-elect Donald J. Trump revealed today the formation of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which will be led by tech magnate Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. This initiative is designed to reduce government bureaucracy, cut regulations, and eliminate unnecessary spending, all in line with Trump’s larger “Save America” agenda.
“I am pleased to announce that the great Elon Musk, working with American patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will spearhead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE),” Trump said in a statement. “Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies – Essential to the “Save America” Movement.”
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk described the initiative as a groundbreaking effort, comparing it to “The Manhattan Project” for government reform. “This will create shockwaves across the system, and anyone engaged in government waste should pay attention,” Musk said.
The new department will work outside typical government channels, collaborating closely with the White House and the Office of Management & Budget to push major structural reforms. Trump stated that the aim is to bring an entrepreneurial mindset to federal operations and drastically reduce waste and fraud within the government’s $6.5 trillion annual budget.
“I look forward to Elon and Vivek making changes to the Federal Bureaucracy with an eye on efficiency and, at the same time, making life better for all Americans. Importantly, we will drive out the massive waste and fraud which exists throughout our annual $6.5 Trillion Dollars of Government Spending,” Trump added. “They will work together to liberate our Economy, and make the U.S. Government accountable to “WE THE PEOPLE.” Their work will conclude no later than July 4, 2026 – A smaller Government, with more efficiency and less bureaucracy, will be the perfect gift to America on the 250th Anniversary of The Declaration of Independence. I am confident they will succeed!”
The project is scheduled to wrap up by July 4, 2026, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Trump voiced confidence in Musk and Ramaswamy’s ability to create a leaner, more efficient government, calling it a “perfect gift” for the American people.
