On Wednesday morning, a Florida congresswoman reported receiving a “very serious shooting threat” at her office.
In a post on X, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) stated that the increasing hostility towards Republicans “is going to get someone killed.”
My office has received a very serious shooting threat.

This division and hate campaign against Republicans is going to get someone killed. I will not be threatened, intimidated, or bow down to those using violence as a means to push their agenda. We will win.
America is the…
Luna, a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, did not provide specifics about the threat but affirmed that she would not be “threatened” or “intimidated.”
“I will not be threatened, intimidated, or bow down to those using violence as a means to push their agenda. We will win,” she wrote.
The bomb threat reported against Luna comes after two assassination attempts on Trump and a bomb threat near his rally location in Long Island, scheduled for Wednesday evening. Authorities have since deemed the bomb threat near Trump a false alarm.
Luna also recently claimed that she was doxxed and received threatening packages at her home in St. Petersburg, Florida, following her Democratic opponent labeling her a “threat to democracy.”
In an extensive post on X, Luna criticized her Democratic opponent, Whitney Fox, for promoting “irresponsible rhetoric” that has led to her harassment, although she did not name her directly.
“When you label people a threat to democracy and attempt to dehumanize/lie about them, violence occurs,” she wrote, sharing that she is a new mother, a veteran and “the first Mexican American elected to Congress from Florida,” which she said is in alignment with all of the left’s values.

I am a new mom. I have a baby. I am a veteran. I am the first woman to be elected to hold FL-13 in Congress and the first Mexican American elected to Congress from Florida.… pic.twitter.com/JvB20p3Zc9
“I am, unfortunately, one of the top targeted members of Congress for violence. I have had threats made, things sent to my office, etc. Violence in politics is never acceptable and should never be condoned. Female members also happen to be the most targeted for violence and harassment,” she wrote.
Luna informed WFLA that she has received multiple threats in recent weeks and noted that authorities are “actively investigating the matter” as she campaigns for reelection. She has served in Congress since 2023.
Luna has been open about her support for Trump. Last month, she gained attention for wearing a MAGA-inspired swimsuit from 2016 featuring the well-known slogan “Make America Great Again.”

Although she received considerable praise for the swimsuit, critics criticized her for it, claiming it was inappropriate for a mother and politician to wear.
