Mark Cuban Shares Presidential Poll on X, Trump Secures Landslide Victory

Mark Cuban, the minority owner of the Dallas Mavericks, conducted a poll on X to gauge his followers’ preferred presidential nominee. He released the results on Friday night, revealing a decisive victory for one candidate.

“Who’ persona and character would you like to see young children grow up to have?” Cuban wrote in the poll.

The choices were former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. In a decisive result, Trump garnered 68.9% of the votes, while Harris received 31.1%.

According to the New York Post, various political commentators and influencers took part in Cuban’s poll. Although Cuban had frequently criticized Trump in the past, he supported Trump’s presidential campaign in 2015. On August 7, Cuban appeared in an interview with entrepreneur and former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, where he discussed his initial backing of Trump.

“In 2015, I was like, ‘He’s great. He’s not a typical Stepford candidate.’ I thought that was a positive,” Cuban said.

“A big part of that is I didn’t think he had a chance,” Cuban added. “I just wanted to kind of screw things up in traditional politics, which I’m not a fan of.”

Cuban, known for his role as a host on the entrepreneurial show “Shark Tank,” mentioned that he had even contemplated joining Trump’s ticket in 2016. In a July 2015 interview with Business Insider, Cuban praised Trump for being forthright with his opinions.

“I don’t care what his actual positions are,” the Shark Tank host said in July 2015.

“I don’t care if he says the wrong thing,” he added. “He says what’s on his mind. He gives honest answers rather than prepared answers. This is more important than anything any candidate has done in years.”

Today, Cuban’s opinion of Trump has significantly changed. Although President Joe Biden was still the likely Democratic nominee, Cuban stated that he would even vote for Biden to prevent Trump from winning the presidency again.

“If they were having his last wake, and it was him versus Trump, and he was being given last rites, I would still vote for Joe Biden,” Cuban said during a March interview with Bloomberg.

With Biden withdrawing from the race, Vice President Kamala Harris has become the Democratic presidential nominee. Cuban has voiced his support for Harris over Trump. On August 16, Cuban posted a series of updates on X, defending Harris’s economic plan and labeling her as the “pro-business” candidate based on her statements during the announcement of her economic agenda.

“Which Pro-Business candidate said this in a Speech this week,” Cuban said on Aug. 16.

He cited Harris’s comments when she said, “I will focus on cutting needless bureaucracy and unnecessary regulatory red tape. Encouraging innovative technologies, while protecting consumers. And creating a stable business environment with consistent and transparent rules of the road. As President, I will bring together labor, small businesses, and major companies, to invest in America. Create good jobs. Achieve broad-based growth. And ensure that America continues to define the world.”
