“We pretty much know where the bodies are buried,” Tom Homan told The Daily Wire. “We know who’s who.”
President-elect Donald Trump’s new “Border Czar” plans to identify and address any federal employees who might seek to hinder his efforts to secure the southern border.
In an interview with The Daily Wire’s Cabot Phillips and Mary Margaret Olohan at Turning Point USA’s America Fest in Phoenix, Arizona, Homan shared his strategy for tackling potential challenges left by the Biden administration.
“They’re working closely with NGOs and other groups to increase the sanctuary city presence,” he explained. “They’re talking to major governors and mayors to thwart our efforts. A lot more mayors and governors are speaking out, saying they’ll try to prevent us from doing this job. They’re still flying thousands in every day.”
On addressing future opposition to the Trump administration’s border policies, Homan was firm: “God help them. We know where the bodies are buried. We know who’s who. If you don’t like the agenda, then get another job. If you don’t, we’ll find another job for you.”
Homan expressed confidence that resistance from within his department wouldn’t derail their plans. “They’re pouting. They’re mad. They’re kicking and screaming. You know what? Do what you want to do. Try to prevent us. We’re going to get this done with or without them. It’s coming. … We’ll crash through the roadblocks. We’re not going to let these people shut this down. We’re going to get this done.”
Reflecting on the Biden administration’s handling of immigration, Homan didn’t mince words. “The Biden administration has not only ignored the law, they’ve actually violated the law in many ways. There’s going to be significant oversight and investigations into what exactly happened under this administration.”
Homan, a long-time immigration enforcement official and founder of Border 911 Foundation Inc., has dedicated his career to addressing the challenges at the southern border.
In a November post on TruthSocial, Trump announced Homan’s appointment as Border Czar. “I am pleased to announce that the former ICE Director and stalwart on Border Control, Tom Homan, will be joining the Trump administration, in charge of our nation’s borders,” Trump wrote. “I’ve known Tom for a long time, and there is nobody better at policing and controlling our borders. Congratulations to Tom. I have no doubt he will do a fantastic, and long-awaited, job.”
