“Former Seattle Police Officer Delivers a Direct Message to ‘Weak Mayor’ in ‘Straightforward, Candid, and Unapologetic’ Letter of Resignation”

Jessica Taylor, a recently retired ex-police officer from the Seattle Police Department, composed a strongly worded 15-page resignation letter on August 1st.

In this public letter, she vehemently criticized Police Chief Adrian Diaz, Mayor Bruce Harrell, and the Seattle City Council, alleging that their endorsed policies are causing harm to the city.

The former officer discussed the contents of her letter on the “The Jason Rantz Show” aired on KTTH radio. The resignation letter, known for its “uncensored, direct, and unapologetic” tone, struck a chord with many individuals who observe a significant decline in the city that was once acclaimed as the pride of the northwest.

According to MyNorthwest, Taylor asserted that following the implementation of “Defund the Police” and COVID-related measures by city officials in 2020, over 600 police officers have resigned from the department.

Fox News reported that Taylor, who retired on Aug. 1 after serving with the Seattle Police Department for 23 years, claimed the city has descended into “anarchy and chaos” and department administrators are guilty of “corruption, deceit, and favoritism.”

“Chief Diaz, let me tell you, the state of the Seattle Police Department and this city is a disgrace. The toxic mix of the Seattle City Council’s absurdity, the spinelessness of the Mayor, the leniency of the prosecutor’s office, and your failed leadership has accelerated this city’s downhill slide straight to rock bottom.

The problems were already brewing before you came on the scene, but since your arrival, it’s been a free fall into anarchy and chaos.”

The former officer stated that the city is currently being controlled by criminals due to policies being influenced by political considerations rather than prioritizing the safety and well-being of local residents. Taylor’s words were as follows:

“The Seattle City Council has lost touch with reality and is making decisions that defy common sense and basic logic. Their priority is playing politics and pandering to radical ideologies, rather than genuinely serving the city’s and its resident’s best interests.

“Their absurd policies have turned Seattle into a playground for anarchists and criminals, and they seem utterly unconcerned with the devastating consequences of their actions.”

“Know that this city’s officers and citizens are suffering under your failed leadership and the incompetence of those in power. The people of this city deserve leaders who will stand up for what’s right, enforce law and order, prosecute those who break it, and prioritize the safety and well-being of its residents above all else.

It’s time for a reckoning, and the citizens of Seattle deserve competent leadership.”

Directly addressing Mayor Harrell (D), Taylor asserted that the Progressive official’s pursuit of “political correctness” has blinded her, causing her to overlook the widespread lawlessness occurring on the city’s streets.

As per a report from KING5 news, crime statistics for the year 2022 indicated that incidents of “violent and property crimes” in Seattle had reached an unprecedented peak. The report highlighted that “aggravated assault and motor vehicle thefts” were notably elevated.

Taylor expressed the following in her letter:

“Know that this city’s officers and citizens are suffering under your failed leadership and the incompetence of those in power. The people of this city deserve leaders who will stand up for what’s right, enforce law and order, prosecute those who break it, and prioritize the safety and well-being of its residents above all else. It’s time for a reckoning, and the citizens of Seattle deserve competent leadership.”

The claims made by the ex-officer underscore significant apprehensions regarding the city’s governance and its repercussions on law enforcement and the safety of the public. Her critiques contribute to the ongoing conversation about the influence of politics on policies within American urban areas.
