Californian’s $10 Million Lottery Victory Following Clerk-Selected Ticket

A $10 Million Lottery Prize Secured by a Californian Who Allowed a Gas Station Attendant to Choose His Scratch-Off Ticket.

In an interview with ABC7, Brent Young recounted his fortunate experience at Prince Food & Gas in Visalia.

“I was like, just pick whichever one; I didn’t care,” the winner said, recalling how he was having trouble picking which game to play when he asked the employee for help.

The gas station attendant proceeded to pick a ticket for the California 200X game, and Young bought it. To his amazement, it happened to be the jackpot-winning ticket, with Young discovering the striking “$10,000,000” as he scratched it off.

Young typically buys his lottery tickets from a different convenience store, but it was closed on this fateful day.

“I had no choice but to go to Prince’s. My usual stop was closed. If it had been open, none of this probably would have happened,” the lucky winner explained.

Young informed the local news source that he chose to receive a one-time payment of $5.8 million in order to minimize his federal tax burden.
