Ben Shapiro Delivers Insight on His Decision to Donate to Trump’s Campaign

During a recent podcast, Ben Shapiro, one of the co-founders of the Daily Wire and known for his criticism of former President Donald Trump, made a noteworthy revelation. He announced his involvement as a co-host for an upcoming fundraiser to support Trump’s candidacy.

In a candid statement, Shapiro expressed his intention to vote for Trump in the forthcoming election, underscoring his commitment by declaring, “I am not just voting for Donald Trump; I will also be co-hosting a fundraiser for him next week.”

“My calculus is very simple, America was better off under Donald Trump than it is under Joe Biden,” Shapiro lamented in a post on The Daily Wire. “At home, America was safer and more prosperous… When Donald Trump was president, America was better off.”

In response to potential surprise among his listeners, Shapiro explained the reasoning behind arranging the fundraiser, placing his decision within the wider political context.

Recognizing his past hesitations regarding Trump, especially during the primaries, Shapiro clarified that Trump’s candidacy against “the worst president of my lifetime,” Joe Biden, motivated him to support the GOP frontrunner, whom he considered a better option than Biden.

“And because Donald Trump is the nominee against Joe Biden, I won’t just vote for him. I will walk over broken glass to vote for him. I will go into my own pockets to support him, which is what I’m doing.”

Affirming his newfound steadfast backing for Trump, Shapiro emphasized his confidence in the former president’s ability to lead the nation positively. He juxtaposed the policies and accomplishments of the Trump administration with what he perceived as the shortcomings of the Biden administration.

“I will always be honest with you about Donald Trump, he wasn’t my first choice in the primaries. He’s a deeply flawed human. I’ve been open in my criticisms of Trump on both character and policy… But Donald Trump is the man standing between America and a second Joe Biden term.”

Shapiro pointed out a spectrum of concerns spanning from economic growth and national security to cultural principles and international strategy, contending that America experienced greater success under Trump’s governance.

While maintaining his dedication to examining Trump’s decisions and strategies, Shapiro emphasized the necessity of preventing Biden from securing a second term, portraying the election as a clear-cut decision between Trump and Biden.

Encouraging those who may have favored another GOP contender to unite behind Trump’s campaign, Shapiro stressed the vital significance of the impending election and concluded with unwavering conviction, stating, “Donald Trump must become the next President of the United States.”

“I encourage all of you who, like me, would have preferred another nominee for the GOP, to recognize this is now a binary race. It is Trump or it is Biden. Unlike 2016, we don’t have to guess what a Trump administration will be. We also don’t have to guess what a Biden administration will be. We know.”

“America cannot afford another term of Joe Biden, or, perhaps more realistically, a Kamala Harris term,” the conservative podcast host continued. “Joe Biden is here to finish the job Barack Obama started: of fundamentally transforming America into the image of the far-Left.”

“That cannot happen. That’s why I’m not just giving Donald Trump my vote, but I’m also giving him my money — because this election matters,” Shapiro added. “Donald Trump must be the next president of the United States.”
