The House of Representatives faced a setback when Speaker Mike Johnson’s spending bill was derailed, largely due to strong opposition from former President Donald Trump, billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, and other prominent Republicans.
As expected, the far-left faction of the Democratic Party reacted with outrage.
One of the most vocal critics was Florida Representative Maxwell Alejandro Frost, a young and progressive member of Congress elected in 2022. Frost turned to social media to unleash a fiery critique of Musk, accusing him of exerting excessive influence over Republican lawmakers.
“An unelected billionaire was crowned co-President by the Republican Party,” he wrote.
“They’ve given him the influence to make a damn post that throws a spending bill into limbo cause House Republicans are scared of him. No greater example of oligarchy. Where the ultra-wealthy run the show.”

He went further, accusing Musk of prioritizing the interests of the wealthy over those of working people.
“And just like that, Republican Unelected Co-President Elon Musk has killed the bill to keep the government from shutting down on Friday,” he wrote.
“All he had to do was make a few social media posts. Trump said he’d empower working people, all he’s done is empower the ultra wealthy.”

Musk wasn’t one to let Frost’s comments go unanswered. Responding sharply, Musk retorted, “He’s just upset he didn’t get his 40% raise to a quarter million dollars a year. ‘Empathy for working people,’ my foot.”

Clearly annoyed, Frost shot back, “Elon’s just upset that this site is now worth 80% less than when he bought it. ‘Great businessman,’ sure.”

Musk, not holding back, added a warning: “The people of central Florida will kick this jackass out in 2 years.”
In response, Frost taunted, “OK, Elon… Here’s the candidate form for your run against me. The people of Central Florida don’t really like corrupt rich guys though.”

Frost’s outburst reflects a broader pattern among some left-leaning politicians: focusing on grandstanding and virtue-signaling rather than addressing the real issues impacting their constituents.
In Central Florida, the district Frost represents, allegations of election fraud have surfaced, highlighted by whistleblower Cynthia Harris, a former Orange County Commissioner candidate. Harris revealed claims of an organized ballot-harvesting operation in Orlando’s African-American communities, reportedly funded by liberal organizations and allegedly paying activists $10 per ballot.
Voter Voice reported in 2022:
Former Orange County Commissioner candidate Cynthia Harris filed a sworn affidavit in late August with the Secretary of State’s office alleging that illegal operations to collect third-party ballots have been going on for years in the Orlando area where voting activists are paid $10 for each ballot they collect.
She described an intricate system funded by liberal leaning organizations that dispatch ballot brokers into black communities to pressure voters to turn over their ballots. The $10 fee per ballot is divvied up among the parties who help complete the harvesting.
The collection and delivery of ballots by third parties is illegal in Florida.
The newly created Office of Election Crimes and Security did a preliminary inquiry on Harris’ allegations and concluded there was sufficient evidence to warrant a full criminal probe by the state police, the Florida State Department told Just the News on Wednesday.
