The saying goes, “better late than never,” but it might not apply to Democrats who are only now acknowledging the obvious about Joe Biden: He was clearly not in a position to serve another four years as President of the United States.
The issue here is timing. Waiting until after he has not only dropped out of the presidential race but also after the election itself raises questions about the sincerity and motives behind such an admission. It feels, understandably, a bit suspect.
Now the corporate media admits it:

“Time is catching up with Mr. Biden. He looks a little older and a little slower with each passing day… it is hard to imagine that he seriously thought he could do the world’s most stressful job for another four years.” Via Politico Playbook pic.twitter.com/9ACSacVsBd
TO STATE THE OBVIOUS — From Peter Baker and Zolan Kanno-Youngs’ NYT assessment of President JOE BIDEN’s final chapter: “Time is catching up with Mr. Biden. He looks a little older and a little slower with each passing day. Aides say he remains plenty sharp in the Situation Room, calling world leaders to broker a cease-fire in Lebanon or deal with the chaos of Syria’s rebellion. But it is hard to imagine that he seriously thought he could do the world’s most stressful job for another four years.”
The audacity to title that blurb “To State the Obvious” is beyond measure. After years of documenting Joe Biden’s undeniably declining mental and physical state here at RedState, I even created a “senile” tag for those stories. Yet, who denied his condition? Politico, The New York Times, Peter Baker, Karine Jean-Pierre, and just about every other Democrat with a platform.
The height of their disinformation campaign was the “cheap fakes” saga. After a particularly troubling appearance in mid-2024 in France—where Biden had to be guided and corrected by world leaders, including Italy’s Giorgia Meloni—the press and White House began claiming that viral videos were altered, labeling them “cheap fakes.” NBC News ran with headlines like “Misleading GOP videos of Biden are going viral. The fact-checks have trouble keeping up.”
The turning point came during Biden’s on-stage freeze at a Los Angeles fundraiser in late June. The White House pushed the “cheap fakes” narrative hard, with Karine Jean-Pierre citing a denial from Barack Obama, who hosted the event, as proof conservatives were fabricating content. Ironically, just a month later, one of Obama’s aides admitted Biden had been so disoriented that evening it left the former president “shaken.”
“Cheap fakes,” indeed.
JEAN-PIERRE: Yeah, and I think you all have called this the cheap fakes video. They are “cheap fakes” video, they are done in bad faith, and some of your news organization have been very clear, have stressed that these right-wing critics of the president have a credibility problem because of the fact-checkers, have repeatedly caught them pushing misinformation, disinformation, and so we see this, and this is something coming from your part of the world calling them cheap fakes and misinformation.
To emphasize the point further, the narrative has shifted from a campaign of falsehoods about Biden’s condition to the far-left Pod Save America hosts now claiming that Biden is no longer in control of the country.
Started with a @cnn discussion of Democrats lacking authentic messengers, ended on an amusing revelation by the Pod Save bros that Joe Biden isn’t actually in command (actual LOL on that one). pic.twitter.com/N0EG8KtP0O

Are they right in this instance? Sure. But do they have any moral authority to make that observation now, after years of deceiving the public in a desperate bid to maintain power? Absolutely not. This applies to every Democrat and left-wing media figure who has only now mustered the courage to acknowledge the truth.
The effort to mislead Americans about Biden’s declining condition stands as one of the most extensive disinformation campaigns in modern presidential history. Its duration and the number of influential voices pushing the narrative—spanning the highest levels of government and the media—are unparalleled. Those involved have forfeited any credibility. They cannot now claim it was “obvious” when they were asserting the opposite just months ago. The lengths they went to—including putting an unfit leader back in the Oval Office to retain power—should not be forgotten.
