Harris-Walz Surrogate: Biden-Harris Administration Has Strong Energy Record, But My State Lacks Sufficient Resources

On Monday’s broadcast of Bloomberg’s “Balance of Power,” Harris-Walz Campaign surrogate and Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont (D) praised the Biden-Harris administration’s achievements in energy production but admitted that Connecticut needs to “bring in more energy resources to lower electricity prices.”

Co-host Joe Mathieu questioned, “Kamala Harris still needs to clarify her economic proposals, particularly regarding energy policy. We know she no longer supports a fracking ban, but Donald Trump advocates for increasing American energy production as a strategy to combat inflation. Will Kamala Harris, for example, end the moratorium on LNG exports? Could she make a significant announcement tomorrow that might highlight differences between her position and Joe Biden’s?”

Lamont responded, “Well, I don’t want to get ahead of what the Vice President’s going to say tomorrow. I can tell you, under Biden-Harris, there’s been more new energy production and that we are producing more energy than ever before. And I think they’re doing it cautiously, they’re trying to preserve our open spaces as best as we can. I come from a state, Connecticut, where we’ve got to bring in more energy resources to bring down the price of electricity. So, I very much look forward to working with president Harris on that.”
